Data Analysis and Statistics With the advent of the internet more and more data is being collected than ever before. Not just commercial data, but data collected by various local and central government agencies, schools, research institutes and also individuals pursuing some local historical or environmental interest. As well as commercial tools for data analysis and statistical testing of data there is a variety of open source tools. One of the most widely regarded such tools is R. R is not only a statistical data analysis and data exploration framework, but, also a programming language and a data presentation tool. Its statistical data analysis capabilities and data plotting capabilities are far better than many commercial packages, including those using Excel. Another powerful set of tools are various Python packages. These include not only the numeric and scientific packages numpy, and scipy and matplotlib for data plotting, but also Python wrappers around R, and Python spreadsheet packages where cell formulas can be written in Python. The courses listed here arose as a result of customers asking for specialised tailored courses.
