What is Service-Oriented Architecture? Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) is an important new model for creating distributed business applications by combining the functionality of a number of independent services. Although the architecture is not tied to any specific technology, services are typically provided as web services, and accessed using SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) which in turn is layered over the familiar HTTP (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol) used to access traditional web pages. An XML-based schema called WSDL (web services description language) is used to formally describe the interface to a web service. SOA Curriculum FTT's Windows SOA Curriculum includes both architectural and conceptual content (courses C902, C904 and C906) and courses aimed more directly at developers (courses C908, C910 and C912). Course C900 covers a related topic — the use of UML (Unified Modeling Language) in conjunction with BPMN (Business Process Modeling Notation) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
